Lowes has been in consistently sparkling form this year and recently scored his 19th and 20th WorldSBK podium finishes for Kawasaki at his home round. Most is one of the few circuits Alex has yet to take a top three finish at, but given his improvements in pace and consistency in 2024 his target for the sixth round of the series is clear.
Alex has taken six podiums in five 2024 events, including two race wins at the first round in Australia.
First year factory rider Bassani has a personal fondness for Most, having recorded several top five race finishes there as an Independent Rider in the past few years.
Pre-Most, Lowes is fourth in the WorldSBK rankings with 165 points and Bassani is 12th with 50 points.
The Autodrom Most is arguably the most complicated circuit layout on the entire WorldSBK calendar. Although an average scale track at 4.212km in length it features 21curves or corners, many of which make up ‘complexes’ or sections that lead into one and other.
Three weeks after Most the seventh round of the WorldSBK championship will take place at the Autodromo do Algarve, in Portugal, between 9-11 August.
Alex Lowes, stated: “It’s really nice to get straight back into action after a good weekend at Donington Park. It was a stressful weekend, because it was my home race, so the important thing is to recharge in the next couple of days. Most is a track that I enjoy, and I have been quite quick there, but never had really strong results. I am looking forward to working hard on Friday and getting my head down with the guys in the team so we can put ourselves in a good position for the races on Saturday and Sunday. Let’s see how Friday is and then we can make some realistic targets for the races. But the aim is always to fight for the podium, if possible.”
Axel Bassani, stated: “For Most, it will be a difficult track for us but I like the layout. In the last three years I always had good races and strong results at this venue, so I am confident to do a good job. The circuit layout is very hard on the body, with a lot of changes of direction. You do not have time to breathe during the lap! Also, I think it will be really hot compared to last weekend in England, so from Friday we have to manage the weekend very well. We will try to stay consistent, have good results in all three races and continue to improve.”
Tito Rabat (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) will join the official KRT riders in the Czech Republic on his KRT-supplied machine.
